Rowan Holistic Health provides a client centred approach in improving the health and well-being of communities through accessible and affordable complementary therapies, as well as community education in whole-person health approaches.

If you're looking to enhance your well-being and overall health, you've come to the right place. Rowan Holistic Health Ltd have experienced practitioners in this field and look forward to meeting you.

Recent years have seen an increase in the number of individuals accessing at least one type of complementary therapy on a regular basis.  Whilst some therapies have often been seen by many as 'luxury' or 'beauty' treatments, at Rowan Holistic Health our professional view is that much can be gained in helping improve our health and well-being through regular treatments, along with developing a better understanding as to the positive effects many complementary therapies have on the body as a whole.

A holistic approach

One of the reasons complementary therapies have been so popular and successful over recent years is because of the holistic approach taken, whereby the practitioner takes into account an individual's medical history, emotional condition, general health and lifestyle before planning a course of treatment.

Stress in today's modern society accounts for a staggering amount of illness.  The use of complementary therapies and an holistic approach provides support through difficult times, promoting positive, physical, emotional and mental balance.

It has been understood for sometime that negative and positive emotions change the complex chemistry of our bodies, and these changes can have a negative or positive effect on the immune system.  Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) research has shown that prolonged stress can cause the body to over-produce cortisol and adrenaline, two hormones normally secreted to produce energy as part of the 'fight or flight' response - an essential survival process.  However, prolonged periods of emotional and psychological pressures means that the over-production of these hormones can begin to weaken the integrity of the immune system, eventually resulting in a breakdown of normal processes which leads to the onset of a serious health condition or disease.

Our aim is to raise awareness of the potential benefits undertaking a course of treatment can be for your overall health.  Whether that be to enhance any current conventional care that an individual may be undergoing, or as a stand-alone self-help approach to improving personal health and well-being.

Complementary therapies are designed to treat the whole person, by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself, not just the symptom or disease.
